We completed the Circle Tour August 21st and what a fantastic time we had! Around every curve was a spectacular view and we plan another tour next year!

Having gotten the idea to drive around Lake Superior by a co-worker who has done it, I researched and found your magazine/site. Your tour guide was so helpful and your maps - fantastic! I started in Michigan and traveled west and north to Copper Harbor. Never been there before and that really pretty much completed the U.P. for me, since for many years I’ve traveled throughout and along Lake Superior many times - Summer & Winter. I made my way across to Duluth, then took a few days to visit family in Minneapolis. I picked back up in Duluth and began the northern route. What beautiful areas I passed through! I would have to say that Marathon to Wawa were my favorite areas. I love the mountains, water, and rock faces. I took time to travel to Chapleau for a day and then finished on down to Sault Ste Marie. It was a lot of driving over 2 weeks, but well worth it. I will head to the north shore in the future - this time for more than one-night stops!

I recently completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour with my boyfriend. We left on Thursday, July 30th from Madison, Wisconsin, and returned a week later on Thursday, August 6th. We drove north along the Minnesota north shore, stayed our first night in Two Harbors. The following day, we visited Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse and Grand Portage. We stayed the night in Kakabeka Falls in Canada. We then visited Quimet Canyon and drove to Marathon, Ontario. After a night in Marathon, we went to Lake Superior Provincial Park for two nights. We went to Sault Ste Marie and then finished the trip by visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising. The scenery and the food was fantastic along the Minnesota shoreline. If we were to do the drive again, we would stay more days in Minnesota and explore Michigan more. It was an amazing trip.

We did the circle tour around Lake Superior from July 17-25. We started in Duluth and went around the Wisconsin and Michigan sides first. Highlights were boat tour to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore at Munising, Michigan, Pancake Bay and Rainbow Provincial Parks in Ontario and the road from Sault Ste. Marie to Wawa, Ontario.

I completed the Circle Tour with a friend from the States (I’m English) at the beginning of August. We were camping our way around, and it was my first camping trip, not a bad way to start! I had a great time, but the highlights have to be swimming in the lovely cool lake for the first time after a long hot hike and seeing a raccoon close up whilst eating dinner (although we had to shoo him away as apparently they are pests)!
