1961 I went as a young girl. I remember cutting tent poles. Dad forgot the tent poles, so every time they stopped they had to go in the woods and cut poles. Plus they had a leaky air mattress! Ishpeming, Michigan, as well. Dale & Diane Benson, San Leandro, California 1963 Went in 1963 when it first opened. Was very little except Wawa and Michipicoten Harbour on the Canadian road. We spent our first night in Cadillac, Michigan, since we had many appointments that day and got a late start. We then drove to Sault Ste. Marie and spent three days, since husband loves all of the ships. Joann McCahill, South Bend, Indiana September 2, 2007 Favorite Spots: Ashland, Wisconsin; Visiting Duluth; Minnesota’s North Shore; Fort William; Camping at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park; Lunch in Rossport, Ontario; Camping at Pukaskwa National Park; Scenery all along the Canadian North Shore; Visiting Sault Ste. Marie; Munising and boat ride to view Pictured Rocks area; Returning to the best place of all - our property on the Keweenaw Peninsula, our second home. Just an all around wonderful trip! Favorite Place: Ontario, Lake Superior Provincial Park - spectacular, gorgeous weather, rock paintings, a lot of hiking in the park. Saw two black bears east of Marathon. Sue Hartley, Saint Louis Park, Minnesota Summer 2006 My wife and I completed the Circle Tour in the summer of 2006. We had a wonderful time and would like to do the tour again. We took a week to do the trip. Actually only 6 days. A week is fine, but do not rush. Savor what you see. One of the most favorite.
